Red queen gets “ Movified” while its sequel gets a cover
8th July 2015
Even before it was released in February 2015, the book had taken the literary world by storm. People were talking about it, recommending it and setting even dates and schedule for Red Queen reading sessions in their book clubs. So it was no brainer that it opened to a mass audience appeal. The book is a dystopian novel high of fanstasy and paranormal quotient and is written by Victoria Aveyard
Red Queen takes place in a fantasy world where people are segregated based on the color of their blood. Citizens with red blood are servants to those born with silver blood. Those lucky enough to have silver blood are gifted with supernatural abilities and rule the land as royalty. Protagonist Mare Barrow was born with red blood, but a mutation grants her electricity-based powers. To save her family, she must assume the role of a long lost princess while secretly plotting a revolution.
Official Synopsis of the book
The poverty stricken Reds are commoners, living under the rule of the Silvers, elite warriors with god-like powers.
To Mare Barrow, a 17-year-old Red girl from The Stilts, it looks like nothing will ever change.
Mare finds herself working in the Silver Palace, at the centre of those she hates the most. She quickly discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy Silver control.
But power is a dangerous game. And in this world divided by blood, who will win?
The good news is that Red queen is getting Movified means it is getting converted to a movie
Rumor is that Elizabeth Banks, the actress famous for her roles in films such as The Hunger Games series and Seabiscuit, is in talks to direct the film adaptation of the YA romance/fantasy novel. She had already moved into the role of producer with her husband Max Handelman with the surprise hit Pitch Perfect in 2012 and then making her directorial debut this year with Pitch Perfect 2.
Red Queen was optioned in 2013 by Universal Pictures. Universal brought Breaking Bad writer Gennifer Hutchison on board to write the screenplay and Divergent producer Pouya Shahbazian will partner with production company Benderspink to produce the film.
While Red Queen is in talks of getting a movie deal, the sequel, Glass Sword is ready for release and yahoo movies released its cover today.
