Review:

Stick around through the initial discomfort and you will be surprised

Daughter of smoke and bone is one of those books that leaves behind its traces even after the completion and the characters and their traits with their share of pain and joy stays still fresh in your mind. The book is not easy to cope with and you need to put in a bit of effort and once you do that you will be rewarded beautifully.

what i did not like about the book is the language which is not used in its easy form but in spite of language, the book is not without its elements and should not be discarded just because the language is a bit strained. The initial pages can be a little confusing with lots of weird creatures being defined and incorporated but do not worry as it wont be much of a problem.

What i loved about the book is the plot and the fact that unlike any other book i have read, the book has a solid ending to it and the way the book ends is superb. The book undoubtedly has one of the most beautiful love stories told and one that will really bring your emotions out strongly (not that you will need to hang on to your tissues). Its not a tearjerker sort story but still the emotions of the characters are well presented by the author without the cliche or mushy romantic lines. The story is kept simple and realistic as possible and is beautiful and haunting and haunting being the most appropriate emotion here. For me, i felt that the book got a new breath of life towards its middle and the way it flows from there is what makes this book beautiful but the only problem being is the language that is a bit tight to digest.Once you will finish the whole story you will appreciate the meaning of the book’s title and its significance

As on 2014, the book is being planned to be converted into a movie and the same was announced in 2013

The book has a really unhelpful language and the initial pages could be a bit confusing with weird paranormal creatures but if you stick around for a bit and get comfortable with the language you will be rewarded with a beautiful love story without the cliches.
